Spotlight Pet Sitting, LLC was founded in the beginning of 2005 when founders Matthew Pearson and Kelly Blizzard began dreaming of their perfect job. While each had completely different backgrounds and interest, they both had the same goal: merge their passion for animals into their daily routine.

Matt knew from a young age that he loved animals. He grew up with a chow mix named Posse, who was loved by all in the neighborhood. Posse was the perfect childhood friend. Only a few months before losing posse, a little furry gift showed up on his doorstep. At the time, the little terrier mix was disorientated, scared and extremely mal-nourished. Matthew spent all day and night talking to the pup from a distance trying to earn its trust. After a lot of love and care, the pup was finally ready to venture into the house to try out domestic living. The Pearson family tried everything possible to reunite the “Little Pup” with its owners. Calling shelters, the police and a number of other community resources, they awaited the day when the family would be happily reunited. Five years later, the family still wonders the past life of the pup, but is happy that they have the companionship of “Little Pup”.

The memory of Kelly’s first childhood pet still is close to her heart. Getting a black lab mix from a family that was surprised by a litter of puppies, Kelly was happy to get her first dog. Holding the puppy in her arms driving back from the farm was one of the happiest days of her life. She instantly knew the perfect name for their new addition: Brittany, named after a character from Alvin and the Chipmunks. Weeks later Kelly decided that she wanted to train Brittany. Taking her outside on a leash with a handful of bones, Kelly started to train Brittany to “sit”. Hours later, the young pup had master the command and Kelly was excited to show the rest of the family.

In the years to come, Matt and Kelly would spoil family and friends pets, bringing them toys and taking them for walks. They would be depended upon to watch the animals during vacations and were the first on the list to help out during family emergencies. Then came the moment they decided to get a pet of their own. Searching high and low for the perfect match, Kelly stumbled upon Save A Dog in Mass. After a rigorous application and interview process, Kelly and Matt were blessed with a new puppy Star, a yellow lab mix. In the following two years, Kelly and Matt would see how big of a part pets play in their lives. Taking Star to clicker training and teaching her tricks like “round” and “jump”, they decided they wanted to share their love for animals with the community.

Already with a network of “pet family”, Kelly and Matt wanted to help other families care for their pets. Knowing the daily obstacles of everyday life and the love that families provide with their pets, Spotlight Pet Sitting, LLC was founded. During hectic routines, vacations, family emergencies and even a family blessing of a child, Spotlight Pet Sitting, LLC is by your side to help you juggle your everyday routine.
